Morrisons continues to be the centre of attention, after the retailer reported a slowdown in sales growth in the wake of Marc Bolland’s departure. The Independent follows up Bolland’s comments saying the M&S job was too good to miss.
That’s also the line taken by The Times,while the Scotsman says Morrisons won’t be rushed into finding a successor. The Guardian, meanwhile, runs its eye over the potential runners and riders.
Elsewhere, SAB Miller yesterday reported sales hikes for major brands including Peroni, as noted by the Independent. The brewer has now overtaken Diageo as the world’s largest drinks company my market capitalisation, The Times reports.
The Financial Times says the mooted merger between Colgate Palmolive and Reckitt Benckiser would make good business sense.
News also that US frozen food giant Birds Eye (not the one owned by Unilever) has been bought for $1.3bn by private equity giant Blackstone.
