Direct Wines has completed a swoop for Waitrose wine chief Justin Howard-Sneyd.
He joins as global wine director at the end of February, replacing Dan Snook in the role. He takes charge of Direct Wines' international businesses portfolio, including its largest UK brand, Laithwaites.
Howard-Sneyd’s departure comes a year after Waitrose promoted him from manager of wine buying to head of wine.
Direct Wines ships more than 40 million bottles a year and has a turnover of more than £270m. It has bases in Berkshire and Devon and is opening a warehouse in Gloucester.
