David Kappler is to step down as chairman of Premier Foods, the company announced today.
Premier’s board has already begun the search for a successor, with Kappler set to leave his post once the new incumbent has been named.
Kappler has worked at Premier for the past six years, having previously been chief financial officer at Cadbury Schweppes. He has also held high-profile non-executive directorships at companies including HMV, Shire Pharmaceuticals and InterContinental Hotels.
“After six hugely enjoyable years at Premier, I have decided this is an appropriate time for me to stand down,” Kappler said.
“Following the successful completion of the acquisitions and integration of the Campbell's and RHM businesses and the recent financial restructuring, the group is now in a strong position and well placed for the future.”
