Catering giant Compass Group saw UK sales slide by just over 2% in the past three months.
However, Compass claimed it had seen a “slight acceleration in new business wins and the rate of retention”.
Across the group, sales were up by 5.5% on a like-for-like basis in the third quarter, contributing to growth of 2% for the nine months to 30 June.
The world’s largest foodservice company said volumes in its business and leisure divisions had recovered to the previous year’s levels but “remain challenging”.
