This summer’s scorching weather has helped soft drinks maker AG Barr record double-digit sales growth.
The company behind Irn-Bru said group sales climbed 13% to £118m in the six months to 31 July. As well as its flagship brand, Barr and Rubicon also performed strongly, the company said, due to sustained marketing investment.
But AG Barr warned that it expected “significant inflation” in imported fruit costs in the second half of the year, which could lead to price hikes for Rubicon.
“We are taking steps to minimise this impact where possible and expect to implement specific price increases for Rubicon in the next few months,” the company added.
AG Barr snapped up Rubicon in 2008 for around £60m.
