Geoff Doherty, the chief financial officer of Greencore Group, will leave the convenience foods maker at the end of this year.
Although details of Doherty’s next move are not yet known, Greencore said he was leaving on 31 December to take on “a similar role at another publicly quoted company”.
"Since joining Greencore Group in 2001, Geoff has made an immense contribution to the development of the company,” said Greencore chairman Ned Sullivan. “While we are sorry to see him leave, we wish him every success in his future career.”
The news comes as Greencore continues to tighten its focus on the UK convenience market, having hived off a number of fringe operations in recent months.
In May the company confirmed it was back in the black after posting pre-tax profits of €11.8m for the six months to 26 March.
