Lidl is taking on the likes of LoveFilm with the launch of its own online DVD rental service.
The discounter promised LidlMovies would be “seriously cheaper” than competitors, with a 30-day free trial and monthly subscription costs of £3.32 over the trial period.
“People value Lidl for its quality food offering at rock bottom prices,” said Simon Wilson from Lidl. “The online DVD rental service is offering the same proposition on a different platform – first-class service at the lowest price and all of that from the convenience of your home.”
