An extension of the Rowntrees Randoms brand into ice cream is among a raft of handheld NPD announced by R&R Ice Cream. The company, which produces ice creams under Nestle and Mondelez-owned brands, is also launching an Oreo ice cream stick and Yoomoo frozen yoghurt lollies.

Rowntree Randoms Minis consist of marshmallow-flavoured ice cream with a blackcurrant jelly centre and fruit-flavoured outer shell. They come in a 12 pack (rsp: £2.49) containing four each of orange, lemon & lime, and strawberry. Although R&R already produces the likes of Rowntrees Fruit Pastilles lollies, it is the first time the Randoms brand has been extended into the category.

The Oreo ice cream stick, a vanilla ice cream with Oreo bits in a biscuit coating, follows the existing Oreo tubs, cones and sandwiches, and will launch exclusively in the impulse channel (rsp: £1.60). The popularity of the Oreo sandwich has also prompted R&R to bring the Maxibon ice cream sandwich to the take home channel (rsp: £2.49/3 pack).

Yoomoo lollies are a mix of frozen yoghurt and fruit on a stick, and come in a pack of six with two each of mixed berry, tropical and strawberry (rsp: £2.49). The Nestle-branded Fab, meanwhile, sees two new developments: the launch of a limited tropical flavour, and a new formulation for the original strawberry flavour, with more fruit juice. Both come in a pack of six (rsp: £1.99). The Nestle range will also see a new kids’ impulse product in Milkybar Mini Lolly (rsp: £0.60).

There is a change to R&R’s Cadbury range, with the Nuts About Caramel ice cream stick withdrawn and replaced by a Cadbury’s Caramel stick (rsp: £2.49/3 pack). All products will roll out from late February.
