A sweetening ingredient that promises to reduce sugar by up to 40% in flapjacks, cereal bars and other bakery goods has been launched by International Taste Solutions.

SweetLite H1 is available to manufacturers now and joins the brand’s GS and P1 powders, which provide a similar level of sugar reduction in porridge.

H1 had been designed to bind as well as “contribute to flavour” lost through the reduction of sugar, said ITS.
