A new e-commerce wholesale operation developed by the founder of food brand Tasty Little Numbers is aiming to be a “one-stop source of innovation for buyers.”

Orderbuddy creator Jo Beach is targeting businesses, including food and health & beauty suppliers, with the subscription-based operation. Orderbuddy would store, pick, pack and deliver products, while marketing the brands on the site, at trade shows and through trade PR, said Beach.

The service is soft-launching at next week’s Lunch show in London, ahead of a full rollout on 1 November.

Beach said she would vet brands wishing to join the service, and those accepted would pay a monthly subscription based on the number of products they want ed to market. This will start at £150 per product per month, which Beach claimed would be “far cheaper” than a business setting up and running its own e-commerce platform and employing a team to manage it.

“I wanted to create an affordable platform while providing a one-stop source of innovation to buyers,” said Beach.

She added the site would use an algorithm to identify what Orderbuddy customers were looking for - giving insight into their buying behaviour and helping Orderbuddy seek brands buyers would be interested in.

Meanwhile, Beach’s portion-controlled Tasty Little Numbers brand - which includes ready meals, confectionery and savoury snacks - has this month launched on the QVC UK shopping channel.
