Asda has relaunched the first tranche of products in its Extra Special range to have been developed by posh cookery school Leiths.

The 64 Extra Special ready meals - which will carry a Created with Leiths School of Food and wine strapline - hit stores this week. They include new recipes developed by Leiths’ chefs as well as some improved existing Extra Special meals.

Some recipes - such as pork shank with apple glaze - are from Leiths Cookery Bible while others - like French farmhouse chicken casserole - are Leiths MD Camilla Schneideman’s own personal recipes.

The meals will be sold at the trial price of £2.50 for meals for one, £4 for meals for two, and £1.50 for sides for two.

Asda first partnered with the cookery school last year when Leiths tasted and approved Extra Special products.

Leiths is now working through the entire Extra Special range - this time creating and developing products - with a Christmas range to be launched next, and further products hitting shelves next year.
