Morrisons beefs up Kiddicare management ahead of major growth push

Morrisons has bolstered the management of its Kiddicare subsidiary by moving four of its directors into the online baby care business.

Dalton Philips, Morrisons’ chief executive, said the move was in preparation for a major expansion that will see Kiddicare opening a chain of standalone bricks-and-mortar stores in addition to its online operation. Morrisons bought 10 former Best Buy stores in January to convert to Kiddicare outlets.

Hilary Leam, director for health beauty and household, becomes commercial director for Kiddicare, while business development director Grant Henley is taking up the position of Kiddicare operations director.

Customer experience director Simon Eastwood is to become retail stores director for the Kiddicare chain, while HR director (corporate) Mandy Flatley become Kiddicare HR director.

They will join a number of recent hires from businesses including Mothercare, Boots and Autotrader.

“We have massive ambitions for Kiddicare and it’s vital we have the depth of talent in the management team to deal with a major expansion,” said Philips. “That’s why we are putting in place some of our most talented people.”
