Morrisons is keeping the heat on rivals with its latest cut to petrol prices.

The supermarket announced today it was cutting the price of petro from 2p per litre from tomorrow (16 May).

The price of diesel will also be cut by 2ppl across Morrisons’ 300 forecourts.

“The continued bad news in financial markets is good news for motorists,” said Morrisons petrol director Mark Todd.

“After seeing continued reductions in the price of oil we are taking the opportunity to bring down prices at the petrol pump.”

  • Its about time some multiple decided to do this. You are making enough money as it is and its great to see Morrisons consider this at such a crucial time for consumers.

I am already worried about the current state of the economy and dont need to worry every time I go to fill-up.

Keep up the good work Morrisons.

  • The garages actually make very little as it is from the sale of petrol and diesel. They can only make profit from the sale of auxilary products in the stores. It is the oil companies and the government that make the huge profits. So good on Morrisons and hopefully they will be rewarded with people shopping in the store when they fill up
