Final curtain for Lidl's DVD home delivery

Lidl has abandoned its DVD delivery rental service after two years.

The discounter was forced to call a halt after Outnow Home Entertainment, which operated the service, went into voluntary liquidation. Customers who paid upfront for more than one month face losing their cash. They will have to submit a formal claim into the insolvent estate.

The defunct website asks members to return DVDs but it also suggests that any members left out of pocket keep any DVDs they haven’t posted and deduct the “approximate cost” from any claim.
