The charity trek comprising top executives from the food and drink trade has reached the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro.

The group includes Sainsbury’s commercial director Mike Coupe, Moy Park chief executive Nigel Dunlop and Charles Reed of William Reed Business Media, publisher of The Grocer.

They reached the summit of Africa’s highest peak on 30 September.

“Everyone at FARM-Africa is incredibly proud of the expedition team’s achievement in reaching the top of Kilimanjaro,” said the charity’s chief executive, Nigel Harris.

“Their triumph is a powerful demonstration of the UK food sector’s fantastic support for African farmers, who are a crucial part of the global food supply chain.”

The expedition has so far raised £220,000 for FARM-Africa. You can read more about their exploits at kiliclimb-farmafrica.org.uk.
