Foodservice wholesaler 3663 is to arm its sales force with live pricing data so they can offer customers on the spot information and deals.

Sales reps would be given laptops providing instant online access to cheaper alternative lines and discounts, said 3663. Some 250 would have laptops with live access by January, with the first seven due to go live in Scotland at the end of the month, it added.

“The customer wants to be assured that when our rep is at the table, the prices are live and ready to use,” said Norman Wemyss, regional MD for the North.
