Makro supply deal for ASC

Makro has awarded a £24m logistics contract to Advanced Supply Chain.

The three-year contract extends the arrangement for Advanced to collect over 1,000 ambient pallets a day from 350 suppliers and deliver them to its Bradford hub for onward delivery to Makro depots.

"As an innovative logistics partner, Advanced has continually identified areas of cost improvement," said Makro supply chain head Dave Jones. "Following commencement of operations at Bradford, we have seen improved availability, reduced stock holding and an improvement in sales."
