Landmark Wholesale's own-label sales rose 14% in the year to April faster than its branded lines.

Sales were boosted by a strong April, during which sales rose 31% year-on-year. The fastest-growing lines were No3 tobacco products and LSV energy drinks, which shot up 68% and 67%.

BA Cash & Carry in Cardiff narrowly beat Parfetts Cash & Carry's Aintree depot to be the biggest-single depot for own-label sales, while United Wholesale Springburn was the fastest-growing member for own-label sales.

"Landmark Wholesale believes providing a mix of top brands with strong own label is essential for the prosperity of the independent sector," said business development director Chris Doyle. "Eighteen central office initiatives are underway as part of our aim to double our own-brand business in the next four years, and we have new product launches planned for the year ahead."
