Marks & Spencer has handed an expanded role to food brand director Rob Weston.

He becomes brand director for general merchandise in addition to his existing responsibilities. The move comes after Alison Jones quit as brand director for general merchandise having spent just a year in the role.

Weston joined M&S last May at the same time as Jones, each taking on new posts created by chief executive Marc Bolland as he set about putting his own stamp on the high street giant.
