Morrisons will next week open its third M-Local convenience store.

The store on Grafton Street, Manchester, will open on Monday. The range has been tweaked from its previous two c-stores, in Ilkley and Wilmslow, to cater for the large number of students living in the area.

The store has an extensive ‘food-to-go’ offer where customers can pick up freshly made porridge, orange juice, soups, jacket potatoes, sausage rolls, cakes and pastries. Additional stationery and household items have also been added.

It will stock over 100 lines of fresh fruit and vegetables, as well as items from Morrisons’ new budget own label range M Savers.

Daily deliveries of freshly baked bread, meat, fish, pizza, sandwiches and salads will be made from the retailer’s Cheadle Heath store. Like M-Local in Ilkley and Wilmslow, all fresh meat, fish, fruit and vegetables will cost the same as in Morrisons’ larger stores.

“This store will be ideal for students, looking to stock up on essential items and pick up food on the go, and we look forward to welcoming them through our doors,” said store general manager Chris Hughes.
