The Co-op chooses Murrells to fill Hurrell shoes

Danish meat company Tulip is hunting for a new UK CEO after Steve Murrells was unveiled as the new CEO of The Co-operative Group’s food business.

Murrells joins in July, replacing Tim Hurrell who retired last year. Prior to Tulip, he was at Tesco and oversaw the integration of Dobbies. He was also CEO of Tesco’s c-store One Stop.

“The Co-op Group has made enormous strides in its food business and this is an exciting time to lead the team,” he said.
