'A significant step in evolution' as Today's separates from Nisa
Nisa and Today’s are to officially separate next week.
The companies, which have been together for 25 years, will separate when Today’s moves to new offices in Doncaster on Monday. Nisa will remain at its Scunthorpe HQ.
“The separation of Today’s Group from Nisa is a significant step in the evolution of both parts of the business,” said Bill Laird, MD of Today’s Group. “Our individual and combined business performances for 2011 were strong. I am very confident the commercial strategies developed by Today’s and Nisa will continue to deliver growth and new opportunities for our respective members.”
Nisa and Today’s have been operating as separate businesses for some time. The two will continue their relationship by trading through Nisa’s central distribution and pursing joint buying and distribution opportunities.
This year would “undoubtedly” be difficult for the UK consumer, Laird said: “The commitment and tenacity of those who work in the independent sector and specifically those closely associated with Today’s and Nisa will present them with the best opportunities to thrive.”
