Greggs takes rustic turn with new pilot store
Greggs has unveiled a new concept store to add to its fast growing estate: Greggs the Bakery.
The high-street baker has opened a pilot store near the site of its first shop, in Gosforth, which opened in 1951.
The new concept will offer 75 new lines, including a rustic selection of freshly baked loaves, a new range of cakes and confectionery - including giant cupcakes - freshly made deli-style sandwiches and pizzas made to order, as well as Greggs’ traditional sausage rolls and Cornish pasties.
“Our latest concept shop showcases Greggs’ bakery credentials, and gives customers a traditional bakery shopping experience,” said CEO Ken McMeikan.”
