Devon foodservice wholesaler Philip Dennis has invested £1.2m in a wind turbine that will produce enough electricity to power its Ilfracombe depot.

The 80-metre turbine will be installed in April. The company has seen electricity costs rise 63% in the past three years.

“The money that we’ll save over the 20-year lifespan of the turbine from not paying for electricity can go towards other projects and expansion,” said project manager Chris Dennis.
