US dried fruit giant Mariani is discussing listings with two major UK retailers.

The brand, which is sold in 40,000 retail outlets in the US, launched into Costco late last year and is now negotiating supermarket listings.

Its TouchLock pouches, which are resealed by strips of tiny hooks, were the first to be used for dry fruit in the UK, it claimed, adding that it hoped lines such as its sweetened dried cranberries in matchbox-style packs would be as successful here as the US.
