Italian wine co-operative Caviro has launched new premium wine range Romio into Morrisons.

The Romio Chard-onnay Grillo Sicilia IGT and the Sangiovese di Romagna DOC Superiore (rsp: £6.49) offered consumers “quality, approachable wine at a competitive price point”, said the co-operative.

It described the Chardonnay Grillo Sicilia IGT as “pleasantly fresh and dry with flavours of ripe peaches”. The Sangiovese di Romagna DOC Superiore, which is from Northern Italy’s Emilia-Romagna region, was awarded ‘Silver Best in Class’ in last year’s International Wine and Spirit Competition.

Caviro works with a select group of local producers across Italy.
