Douwe Egberts app gives Brits brewing nous

Douwe Egberts has created an iPhone app to help consumers brew a better cup of coffee.

The Perfect Cafetière Coffee app - part of the relaunch of the brand’s ground coffee range begun last year - features brewing directions and a timer to alert users when coffee reaches its ideal brew time. It also offers consumers money-off vouchers.

The company claimed four in 10 Brits refused to buy ground coffee because they lacked confidence in how to prepare it.
