Zico pursues listings outside health clubs
Coconut water brand Zico has set its sights on mainstream UK retailers.
The isotonic water, positioned as a natural alternative to sports and energy drinks, launched last September into London fitness venues.
Targeting the fitness market had proved a successful initial move, said company founder Mark Rampolla, but he felt the time had come to extend the brand.
He added: “There has been an explosion of sports drinks and healthy foods in the past decade, but there is a gap for a natural alternative.”
Represented by Euro Food Brands, Zico is available in an original coconut variant, and more flavours are set to hit shelves later this year.
