Bio-tiful Dairy launches three fermented milk drinks
A former Russian athlete is hoping to open UK consumers’ eyes to fermented milks with the launch of a new range of dairy drinks.
The range includes: My Kefir, a refreshing drink marketed as a breakfast alternative or snack Riazhenka, a sweeter-tasting drink designed to give a boost during the day and Prostokvasha, pitched as delicate and revitalising.
The brainchild of Natasha Bowes - who trained as a figure skater from the age of four - the products are produced by Bio-tiful Dairy using milk from an organic dairy herd farmed on the South Downs.
“I competed at national level and needed the best nutrition to optimise my body’s performance ,” she said. “Kefir and other fermented milks were a crucial part of the super-healthy diet.”
Kefir is thought to be beneficial to health because of its blend of good lactic bacteria, lactic acid, vitamins, protein, fats and natural antibiotics, enhanced through fermentation.
The products launched into the Marylebone branch of Natural Kitchen last week at a launch price of £1.50 for a 250ml bottle (rsp £1.79).
