John West to unveil line of ethical tuna

John West has followed Princes' lead (see p47) by launching its first range of tuna made entirely using pole and line-caught fish.

The range, which will launch in September, will comprise a 185g can of tuna chunks (rsp: £1.59) as well as a 3x80g pack (rsp: £2.09). Both formats will be available in brine, sunflower oil and spring water.

John West has also launched a range of canned salmon, mackerel and sardines that have all been sourced from MSC-certified fisheries.

The brand will go back on TV in the autumn.
