Foodvest has changed its name to Findus Group following the acquisition of Findus UK last month and replaced chief executive Per Harkjaer.

Harkjaer is to leave following a disagreement with owner Lion Capital about "how to manage Foodvest". He will be replaced on Monday by Chris Britton, although Harkjaer will stay for a handover period of "a few weeks".

Findus Group - which now owns the Findus brands in several European countries, as well as The Seafood Company and Young's - will focus on developing greater synergy between its companies.

Harkjaer joined Findus five years ago and was instrumental in the creation of Foodvest, one of the largest frozen food and chilled seafood companies in Europe. Britton was formerly an executive board member and president of the babyfood division of Netherlands-based Royal Numico.
