Ethical brand One has added bread to its portfolio of products that help to fund projects in rural Africa.

The One Clever Loaf range, which will be available from Tesco from the end of next month and other retailers later this year, comprises two sliced breads Malted Wheatgrain with Seeds and High Fibre White (rsp: £1.35/800g). All of the profits from sales of the products will be used to help the development of start-up bakeries in Africa.

Produced by family-owned business Roberts Bakery, the breads would help to change the lives of less fortunate people, said Ashley Stockwell, director of the One brand, which was launched in 2005 by former advertising director Duncan Goose.

The launch takes the brand's range to six lines, and the company is currently looking into further opportunities, within the fmcg environment and beyond, Stockwell said.
