Brits are getting more adventurous when it comes to breakfast but are they ready to start the day with a bowl of stew?

Premium ready meal brand Stewed! will be hoping the answer is "yes" when it rolls out its Boston Baked Beans pot meal (rsp: £3.79) later this year. The pot contains beans, tomatoes, sausage, smoked bacon, mushrooms, molasses and spices, and Stewed! is also planning a veggie version with smoked tofu.

Stewed! founder Alan Rosenthal said the products would be suitable for any time of day, but packs would carry a flash saying 'great for breakfast'. "We didn't want to exclude sales opportunities by calling it an all-day breakfast, which might also lead people to imagine we had just poured beans, eggs and bacon into a pot," he added.

Stewed! meals are already stocked in retailers including Sainsbury's and Waitrose.
