WeightWatchers to launch larger meals

WeightWatchers from Heinz is introducing a larger frozen ready meal that includes a portion of veg.

Even More meals weigh in at 380g each rather than the 300g to 330g of existing meals. They come in three variants: chicken in white wine sauce with tagliatelle & green beans; beef in peppercorn sauce with diced potatoes, sweetcorn and peppers; and Thai green chicken curry with wild rice and baby corn (rsp: £2.79).

The newcomers, which represent nine ProPoints compared with a standard meal’s six to seven, had been created in response to increasing demand for “more substantial” ready meals, said brand manager Sarah Davies.

“These days, consumers want a quick, convenient meal without having to buy, prepare and cook a separate portion of ­vegetables,” she added.

Even More will be supported by a £1.7m marketing push.
