Wind in the sails of low-alcohol beer
Sustainable brewery Hobsons used a windmill to create its new low-alcohol beer.
Twisted Spire, a 3.6% abv bottled blond beer, is one of the first ales to be made using energy generated by the Shropshire-based brewery's own windmill, installed last year. At an rsp of £1.85-£2.25, the beer will be available in Worcestershire-based branches of The Co-op, as well as farm shops, this month.
Director Nick Davies said the beer had received rave reviews and "appealed to men and women because of its light taste".
