Downton Abbey star Hugh Bonneville may be accustomed to ordering his servants around as Earl of Grantham Robert Crawley, but in real life he’s more than happy to pop down to his local c-store for a pint of milk and a loaf of bread.

Bonneville has backed a project to bring a much-needed community shop to the small West Sussex village of Milland for the past two years. He will officially open Milland Stores on 3 December, which will include postal facilities, a café, internet access and emergency grocery deliveries for the more vulnerable members of the community.
