Bottlegreen Drinks is hoping to shed cordial’s mumsy image with a premium lime variant aimed at adults.
The Cotswolds-based business is releasing Bottlegreen Aromatic Sweet Lime Cordial (rsp: £2.50 for 500ml), combining the zest of limes with aromatic bitters and local spring water to create a ‘piquant and crisp’ cordial.
Claimed to be the UK’s first premium lime cordial, it will benefit from a £1.2m marketing
spend on the Bottlegreen portfolio this year.
Like all the products, the cordial is cold-filtered and can be served with water or combined with spirits in cocktails.
Bottlegreen Drinks managing director Simon Speers said: “We anticipate it will be incremental in the category, as there is nothing else like it on the market. We expect consumers to be proud to display the stylish bottle as part of their drinks collection, instead of hiding their lime cordial at the back of the cupboard!”
