We must heed battery ban

The recent ban on EU hen battery cages was particularly pertinent to DBC Foodservice.

For the past year, DBC has been sourcing Lion-marked eggs, so is fully compliant with new legislation. As the largest 100% British-owned foodservice company, we have a duty to support local British producers.

UK consumers are more worried about eggs used in foodservice than retail, where traceability is perhaps greater. We would urge all foodservice suppliers to put in place proper systems to ensure they comply with the new legislation.
