Eblex offers farmers four new eco pointers

Eblex has published the third update to its beef and sheep environmental roadmap, which identifies four key ways for farmers to increase their environmental efficiency.

The report, Down to Earth, encourages farmers to achieve optimum daily liveweight gains, select animals for slaughter at optimum weights, use quality feed to maximise rumen efficiency and achieve best output per breeding animal.

Improving on the areas highlighted in the report would bring double rewards for farmers, said Eblex industry development manager Chris Lloyd. “Once again, this work is showing that carbon efficiency goes hand in hand with economic efficiency,” he said.
