The ACS has released a guide to help indies get set for April’s tobacco display ban.

From 6 April, large stores over 3,000 sq ft will have to hide displays. Smaller stores have until 2015 to comply.

The guide includes advice on storage options, do’s and don’ts and permitted displays.

“The display ban is a major burden on retailers that is already causing significant disruption,” said ACS CEO James Lowman. “Our guide is designed to help retailers with training staff.

“This easy-to-follow guide will reduce this burden by helping larger stores comply now, and allow smaller stores to think ahead about how to comply from 2015.”

The guide can be found at www.acs.org.uk/tobaccodisplayban.
