Marks & Spencer has added a new director to its board.

Miranda Curtis joins the high street giant in a non-executive role in February.

She is a former executive at entertainment group Liberty Media and is currently chairman of bookshop Waterstone’s.

“Miranda will bring a valuable perspective of international consumer business and technology to our strategy, set out by [chief executive] Marc Bolland in November 2010, to become an international multi-channel retailer,” said M&S chairman Robert Swannell.
