The Ice age cometh: farm shop sales boosted by eco-cardholders
Farm shops have enjoyed a sales lift of more than a fifth after teaming up with eco-friendly loyalty card Ice.
Cardholders spent an average of 22% more per transaction at farm shops after signing up to the card, said Ice. It also said data from its website showed that 100% of cardholders were using the card regularly at farm shops.
The card can also be used with a number of organic veg delivery companies, organic butchers and micro-distilleries.
“The popularity of Ice in our first year has proved demand among farm shops for an innovative programme that can help them reward customers and encourage repeat business,” said Ice CEO Jude Thorne. “The customer insight and added footfall gained from a loyalty scheme is also crucial to help farm shops attract and keep their target consumers.”
Andy Jeffery, who runs Farrington’s Farm Shop near Bristol, said the data he was now collating from customers was also helping boost sales.
“We switched to Ice a year ago and it’s gone really well,” he said. “We get great data on what customers are buying and can use this to grow our business.”
