Moët & Chandon has launched its millennium vintage Champagne, the 67th vintage since its first in 1842.

The Moët & Chandon Grand Vintage 2000 White is on sale at supermarkets and off-licences at a recommended price of £34.99 a bottle.

The company has also produced the Moët & Chandon Grand Vintage 2000 Rosé which is on sale at £43.99 at Fortnum & Mason, Harrods and Harvey Nichols.

The 2000 vintage was a "roller coaster for wine growers," said the company's vintage report.

Chef de Cave Benoit Gouez described the wines as "distinguished yet delightfully spirited and mischievous".
