A major UK supplier of spring onions is asking the public for their favourite recipes using the salad vegetable, and is making a donation to heart research for each one that it receives.

Fieldfresh has joined forces with the British Heart Foundation to raise consumer awareness of spring onions and will donate £1 for every recipe, the best of which will appear in a collection alongside those of celebrities.

Recipes can be sent via the web site of the BHF, which was chosen as the charity to benefit because of its connection with healthy eating and a healthy lifestyle. Promotions are running in Tesco, Sainsbury and Asda.
