Sainsbury’s has beefed up its web expertise by adding the UK managing director of Google to its board.
Matt Brittin joins the supermarket as a non-executive director.
“We were looking for someone who would complement the skills and experience of our existing team and I am sure Brittin will contribute widely to our future growth aspirations,” said Sainsbury’s chairman David Tyler.
Brittin said: “The Sainsbury’s brand has strong consumer values and its sales are going from strength to strength both off-line and online.”
