Simon Litherland has resurfaced in the new role of GB managing director at Britvic Soft Drinks.

Litherland, a former guest editor of The Grocer, was most recently MD of Diageo GB but left the Guinness brewer in July this year following a far-reaching management restructuring. He takes up his new role on 4 October.

“Britvic has the widest soft drinks portfolio in Britain, with favourites such as Robinsons, J2O, Fruit Shoot and Pepsi, and has demonstrated a great commitment to constant product innovation,” he said.

“I am looking forward to playing my part in strengthening the business.”

Britvic chief executive Paul Moody added: “Simon brings a wealth of experience, having performed a similar role at Diageo.

“The creation of the post of a GB managing director is a step forward for Britvic, giving the British business a tighter focus and allowing the group executive committee to concentrate on our strategy of growing internationally both through acquisitions and extending existing franchise agreements.”
