Pasta Reale has launched two Pasta and Sauce for One meals as a response to the increase in the number of single person households and solo meals. Each pack comprises 200g of fresh pasta and 150g of sauce ­ a generous single serving ­ which can be cooked in six minutes. Jane Rutherford, Pasta Reale's marketing manager, said the meals would generate incremental sales, because they targeted time and health-conscious single consumers: "The meals span the traditional boundaries between fresh pasta and Italian ready meals." There are two flavours, Spinach and Ricotta Tortellini with a Tomato and Herb Sauce, which is suitable for vegetarians, and a Ham and Cheese Tortelloni with a Tomato and Bacon Sauce.
