Absolut has launched interactive iPad displays in selected Tesco stores to drive trial of its vodka range.

The units contain bottles of Absolut Raspberri vodka, plus an iPad loaded with the Drinkspiration Home Edition iPad app.

It is hoped shoppers will be inspired by the app, which offers more than 3,000 cocktail ideas using a range of base spirits including vodka, gin, rum, whisky and tequila, in addition to drink trivia, step-by-step mixing instructions and video demonstrations.

The app also allows users to create a shopping list and includes the quantities ­required for their chosen drink. "This appeals to tech-savvy consumers, is the perfect platform to bring the theatre of mixology to life at the point-of-sale and showcases the versatility of the Absolut vodka range in-store," said Pernod Ricard UK marketing manager Adam Boita.
