"Chewy fruit bars have previously been aimed at children, with simple branding and flavours, but adults are looking for great-tasting healthy treats too," said group marketing director Dave Coulson.
The company said the bars contained one portion of the recommended five fruit and veg a day, were made with 95% fruit and had no added nasties.
They come in Tropical Fruit, Apple & Pear and Summer Fruits flavours and will retail at £2.29 for a box of five 25g bars. Glisten is also developing counter displays for a move into impulse single bar sales in the new year.
The Fruitus brand was relaunched with new packaging and new products in 2007. Further launches into new categories are in the pipeline for next year .
