Walkers’ domination in store continues as the brand consolidates its lead, pulling ahead of competitors. Floor stacks, solus gondola ends and off fixture displays appear in abundance and extend the lead of the brand to a full 13 percentage points with multibuy offers abounding throughout. If any other brand is to threaten Walkers’ position at the top of the chart for next week there must be some dramatic changes in store.
Elsewhere in the chart are Kellogg’s, Tango, Carlsberg, Grolsch and Stella Artois - predominantly re-entries from the past few weeks. The highest new entry is McVitie’s which goes straight in at number two. McVitie’s preferred promotional mechanic is clearly the buy one get one free offer which features on products in both the snacks and the cakes and biscuits categories.
The drinks categories continue at the top of the chart, enhancing their grip and increasing in store activity from a quarter to one third. The brand chart includes five drinks in the top 10.
